Commercial building dismantlement across multiple lots within a highly populated urban area.

Gramercy performed demolition and site preparation services for the construction of the Gowanus Canal Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Facility. The project involved commercial building demolition across multiple lots within a highly populated urban area while protecting and monitoring adjacent structures, including the Gowanus Canal bulkhead. Work also included utility disconnections, historic façade preservation and salvage, installation of below-grade concrete and geosynthetic systems, environmental remediation, and preparation of the site for future construction activities.

Civil

  • Installation of Concrete & Rebar at Below-Grade Voids/Structures
  • Installation of Geosynthetic & Geomembrane Materials over Existing Slabs
  • Historic Preservation & Salvage of Building Facade Materials (i.e. bricks, bluestone, terracotta, etc.)

Demo

  • Full Structure Demolition of (5) Commercial Buildings across (3) Lots
  • Disconnect/Cap Existing Utilities (water, sewer, electrical, etc.)
