Project Overview

Hart Island Demolition and Site Restoration

Gramercy successfully mobilized and established a marine-based construction operation on remote Hart Island, transporting personnel, equipment, machinery, and thousands of tons of material by barge due to the island's lack of roadway access.

Our scope included complete site setup, protected staging and storage areas, access road construction, hazardous material abatement, demolition of sixteen (16) structures, debris recycling, historic artifact protection, chimney demolition, and restoration of approximately nine acres of landscaping.
